George Webster Elementary School

TORCOM Construction Inc. completed the construction of a new 92,000-square-foot elementary school for 850 students on the site of the existing George Webster Elementary School. This project demonstrates our expertise in delivering large-scale educational facilities while maintaining ongoing school operations.

Scope of Work‍

The new two-story, sprinklered building includes 26 classrooms, 14 special-purpose rooms, a library, a gymnasium with a stage, a child care room, and a pediatric clinic. Construction featured concrete block foundations, hollow-core slabs, modular masonry, and aluminum curtain wall glazing. Site work included new sodded fields, a playground, bus loops, asphalt walkways, and landscaped areas.

In Phase 2, the old school was demolished following comprehensive asbestos abatement. Careful phasing ensured the existing school remained operational during construction, with minimal disruption to students and staff.
